*TODAY!: I heard back from Bea Youngs the other day and she did authenticate that she will be at Challenge Park Extreme in Illinois today to sign autographs & take pictures. She will be there from 5-8PM. She said that she'll be doing a radio show after that, so hopefully, if you can't be there you can catch her over the airwaves. I believe she should be commended for dedicating herself to promoting this sport like she does. Thanx Bea!

*This weekend!: Kick'n Paintballs will be having a 5-man indoor tourney Jan. 17th-19th! You can see a flyer here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. Because of the format I had to use they are a little fuzzy. If you have trouble reading them, I will be happy to send you some on-line. Just e-mail us with "Kick'n flyer" in the subject. Same goes for the registration page. Check it out, there are some excellant prizes!

*The B-Town Outlaws are happy to announce a new addition to their team! Welcome David "Gishmonster" Gish! David has tournament experience and is also an amateur airsmith. Those of you who shop E-Bay or visit Bloomington Paintball Supply may already know him as he fixes, sells & trades used markers as a hobby.

*Just an important reminder: the B-Town Outlaws are currently looking for 2 middle or front players. Your experience doesn't matter as long as you are willing to learn. If you are interested in joining us please check out our team bio and make sure you can commit to serious tourney competition & the expenses (which are actually quite reasonable, rostering as 7). This team receives many benefits from various fields including Paintball Valley & a Kick'n sponsorship. If you are interested, e-mail us directly: paintballoftmrw@hotmail.com. We are currently scheduled to play the 5-man Winter League at the Proving Grounds next month and it will be a great practice run for us.

*Paintball Fun, one of our sponsors, just sent out a release w/ their tournament, Scenario & charity events planned for this year. Check it out here: Upcoming Events. Their next league date is scheduled for Sun., Feb. 9th! Come one, come all!

*Here's another article from Force of Nature about Ronn Sterns Paintball Camphttp://forceofnature.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=415&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0. You can now visit them on-line at: http://PaintballCamps.com. Ronn Stern has his own web site which can be found at: http://RonnStern.com.

*APG request!: APG would like to hear from any company that provides training in the safe handling of compressed gas and air (compressed air/HPA/nitrogen). Email editor@actionpursuitgames.com.

*Also from APG: I'm sure most of you have already heard the bad news but . . . "Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees has died following surgery, at age 53. He played competition paintball with the Royal Rat Rangers, and other teams, throughout the world, and owned a Miami, Florida, paintball pro shop, Commander Mos. Maurice, his twin Robin Gibb, and their older brother, Barry, founded the Bee Gees in 1958 in Brisbane, Australia. All three brothers had lived in Miami for about 30 years. Maurice is survived by his wife Yvonne and two children." That was definitely sad to hear. I had just watched him in an interview on OLN's World Cup show the night before. They had won 3 of their games at the World Cup and he seemed proud of their performance. How unfortunate . . .

*Just a reminder to those of you out there: May 10th & 11th is the 2nd Annual Introduce Women to Paintball Week! They hope to see you inviting your wives, girlfriends & mothers out to see what paintball is all about. Fields interested in participating this year should contact them at their web site: http://femmesfatales.org/iwp/.

*We attended Underground Paintball last weekend. Paintball in a cave is definitely something else. They had a great turnout from players in Kentucky to the Northern & Central ICC teams in Indiana. There were actually so many teams present that if you didn't show up w/ a full team, extra players were hard to come by & you'd struggle for playing time. They have room for 40 fields below ground & plan on using their 150 acres above ground for Scenario Games. PMI was present & Evil promotion was evident. The only bad comments I heard was about the sand on the Hyperball field & the lighting which we were assured both would be fixed very soon. Which is good cuz' I'm still feeling the sand in my shoes (3 days later). Like someone that was there commented "imagine, that's what the players in Texas deal with on a regular basis". If you can't wait for the pics from us, check out ICC's EZ-Board for some pics on PBNation.

*We were informed last week that http://PaintballPics2.tripod.com had some problems. Joe is currently getting it back in order. Stay tuned here and we'll let you know when pics of the 02' ICC/Kick'n State tourney, Paintball Valley/Wayne Dollacks Scenario Game, a few BPS Open pics & some shots from Underground Paintball that we attended  last weekend are each on-line & completed. Thanx for being patient! Have a good week : )

*I am happy to announce that our membership costs have now been lowered! $20 for a single membership & $30 for a family membership! Once I get back to contacting more fields next week I hope to be seeing more sponsors grace our path. Which will increase the value of your affiliation with us as we all grow. Our membership costs were initially set to balance off the costs of running a free playing insured field to members. Which we've grown beyond & started to become part of the community & help provide the publicity that paintball needs to thrive. Our initial advertising debt has all been met. We are already on our way to meeting costs of filing. This year we will become an not-for-profit organization. Join us, for there is more than corn in Indiana! Sorry bout that. Couldn't help it : ) What I mean to say is there is more in store for us & there are some good things in the works that I can't explain yet. So stay tuned & please consider becoming a member.

*Anthony Lillig, the Industry Relation Chair for the Indiana Captains Council issued a press release this week:
The Indiana Captains Council has announced the dates for its 2003 series.  At the ICC convention, the players voted to increase the number of events from 7 to 8 this year.  March 16, April 13, May 18, June 15, July 13, August 10, September 14, and October 12 will see the ICC spraying paint for points.  Locations for these dates will be announced following the field & paint voting.  Fields still have time to get themselves on the ballot; contact ICC President Chris Herring at chris@iccpaintball.com for details.

The ICC received 4 paint bids this year.  PMI, Severe, National Paintball Supply, and Kick'n (ICC paint sponsors for the past 2 years) all submitted competitive bids for this year.  Voting for fields & paint will be handled by a neutral third party this year to ensure impartiality and accuracy.

The ICC also re-confirmed Chris "Target" Herring as the ICC President.  Also re-confirmed in their Executive Board positions were "Disco" Dan Voils as Vice-president, Tom "Ultimate Ref" Boyer as Reffing Committee Chair, Israel "Izzy" Stark as Field Committee Chair, and Anthony Lillig as ICC Industry Relations Chair.  New to the Executive Board is Bryan "How'd I get roped into this?" Jennings, member of Team AtmosfearBryan is filling the League Rules Committee Chairman position vacated by Rob "Gonzo" Stewart, who has chosen to work on his private venture, On Target Entertainment (http://ontargetentertainment.com).

The ICC will have a new pit boss for this year.  Bil Blanton of Apache Lightning will be taking on one of the greatest responsibilities of the ICC.  The Pit Boss works directly with the field owner to make each event work.  ICC VP Dan Voils was the Pit Boss for the 2002 season.

The ICC passed an increase in entry fees this year to cover budget shortfalls for the past two years.  This year's entry fees are $165 per team.  Players will also be required to purchase a $5 ID card to carry throughout their duration with the ICC.

The ICC would like to thank its sponsors for believing in us and assisting in our growth!
AKA, Galyan's Sporting Goods, Action Enterprises, Blast Factory, River Valley, Gator Joe's, Operation Ambush, Paintball Outfitters, Laser Specialties, Team Dominion, Ricochet Development, ISA, Kick'n, SPPLAT & Wittydesigns.com
The ICC is always looking for more sponsors.

For up to date ICC information, look no further than www.iccpaintball.com

*The B-Town Outlaws will be having a practice this weekend at 11 am on Sun. at Underground Paintball. If you need directions or more info contact me for more details. A $10 field fee includes air & BYOP. Teams that I've heard are coming include the Sewer Rats teams, Parasey, the Instagators,  & the Wiseguys. If you are interested in joining the B-Town Outlaws, this would be a great time for us to meet you & get some playing time in! Especially since we only have 3 of us playing.

*Just an important reminder: the B-Town Outlaws are currently looking for 3 middle or front players. Your experience doesn't matter as long as you are willing to learn. *Only a week away!: Kick'n Paintballs will be having a 5-man indoor tourney Jan. 17th-19th! You can see a flyer here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. Because of the format I had to use they are a little fuzzy. Check it out, there are some excellant prizes!

*Bea Youngs e-mailed me yesterday with some very kind comments about the site: ). Who said doing this wouldn't have perks? It was definitely nice to get a pat on the back from such an amazing person. I was checking out her site and you wouldn't believe how busy she is. She really is a busy bea! You can see her site at: http://beayoungs.com/. For those of you that don't know, Bea's a team member of the Femmes Fatales, an all-women tournament team. They have an organization for women paintballers you should see. It is very informative for all players! See it at: http://femmesfatales.org.

*I haven't heard back from Bea Youngs yet to authenticate this but I ran across a post stating she would be at Challenge Park Extreme in Illinois on Wed. the 15th to sign autographs & take pictures.

*Scott Matlock you lazy bum! (Just kidding, he's a friend of mine) Send those pics of the Dollack event to us! I've got a guy who's been waiting to see them.

*If you haven't heard already, the NPPL's e-mail accounts were hacked recently! Here's an article from the Paintball Channel about it: http://www.paintballchannel.com/browse.php?mod=article&opt=view&id=130&style=details.

*Good news!: We picked up a multimedia card the other day that will allow us almost 700 pics! We look forward to bringing you more action and pics throughout this year. Starting with some from Underground Paintball this weekend. Joe should be catching us up next week with some pics from the Dollack/Paintball Valley event! So stay tuned in . . .

*The B-Town Outlaws will be having a practice set up over the next few weeks. I just got word yesterday that Shan Bowers is taking a leave till June, when he will be more mobile. Our winter league that was scheduled for Jan. is cancelled. But only the Jan. event. B-Town is currently looking for a middle or front player. We've seen a change just recently with the addition of Dave & Tim Dixon and we are confident we are putting together a better team this year. If you are interested in joining us please check out our team bio and make sure you can commit to serious tourney competition & the expenses (which are actually quite reasonable, rostering as 7). *Today at 2PM on the Outdoor Life Network the World Cup will be shown. Don't miss it!!

*I ran into this the other day. Bea Youngs article on sponsorship (part 1): http://paintball.com/features/story.cfm?placementID=1712&clickon=NewsS

*Here's news from the Star Wars:Bounty Hunter Battles thrown by Wayne Dollack: http://paintball.com/features/story.cfm?placementid=1700&clickon=FSS

Dec. 18th-

*We are very happy to announce our latest Ohio sponsor! It is The Dude Ranch, located in Cinncinatti, just 10 minutes from Kings Island. They have offered club members a $5.00 off per person field use discount! They have horseback riding, cattle drives, fishing & more besides paintball. You can check out their web site by clicking on their name. To see a full list of our club benefits click here.

*If you scroll down to the beginning of this month you will find a listing of all the tourneys that are currently scheduled. To save some space I'm going to skip writing them all again.

*Some of the B-Town Outlaws attended the ICC convention last Sunday in Indianapolis, IN. This being our 1st time at their (our) convention I didn't quite know what to expect. Listening and talking about paintball, from a player's perspective to the business perspective, there really was a lot to address & work out. It definitely left my mind a little spaced out over the many hours we spent there. I must say that I have a great respect for all the time & work that the ICC committees, vice-President & President volunteer for the paintball playing community. It is a well-run organization & it is that in fact because of the people who give their time for little reward, if any. People try and bash them on their discussion board & I just wonder why? They have earned our respect.

We will be getting an offcial news release soon. To tide you over, here's some of the important items discussed and changed:
  • There was talks of going to 6 events before the convention, it turns out that the players wanted 8 events instead. The Series will be scored over 6 events, so if you play all 8 you can drop your 2 lowest scores.
  • There was talks of going BYOP next year, which was voted down.
  • There were 4 paint companies who made some very different bids w/ various benefits. The companies included Kick'n, National Paintball Supply, PMI & Severe Paint.
  • Next year, 5 events will get you a vote at convention & 3 events will get you a vote on the paint providers & fields.
*This last weekend we picked up a new video/digital still camera to use for the club. Some of you know, since my msntv fizzed out on me, we have been relying on others for pics or are just not taking any pics. No more.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize pics couldn't be taken from video straight to the computer (like w/ my old msn set-up & I didn't even know there was something I needed called a multimedia card!), so you are gonna miss out on the pics we took from the ICC convention. Which included video of the Proving Grounds display set-up and their future layout, Manny (a pro player from Aftershock who lives in Indiana) introducing the Proving Grounds, Underground Paintball's introduction, Paintball Valley's introduction, the crowd of players & the ICC President & Committiee Chairs. If once we get a multimedia card and we're able to take pics from the video we shot, those pics will make it on-line along w/ some other video we've shot this year. I'm gonna have to do some research, spend some money & find out.

*Speaking of Underground Paintball, it is just that in fact, it's paintball in a cave! Their located in Marengo Cave in Marengo, IN. I don't have their web site info yet but hopefully by the next update I'll have tracked it down (if you know it e-mail me!). News was that PMI was down there recently w/ talks of throwing some national events. Think about it, there could be snow, rain, extreme heat or cold, you wouldn't even know it. Just a constant temperature of 60 degrees. Can't beat that!

*Speaking of the IPPI (Individual Paintball Player Identification) as I did last week (you can find a link about it below), the ICC has now stepped into the arena to help track their own players skill levels to prevent sandbagging by offering id cards & creating a database of their players. They will be available for only $5 at the 1st ICC Summer Series event of this year and at every event following.

*The B-Town Outlaws will be having a practice the weekend after next either at Paintball Valley or at Underground Paintball. Expect a date & time to be released next week.

*Just a reminder: The World Cup is still showing at different dates & times throughout this week on the Outdoor Life Network! Don't miss it! Here's a link from the Paintball Channel w/ the dates & times: http://www.paintballchannel.com/browse.php?mod=article&opt=view&id=121&style=details.

*From APG: "Maryland Legislation is taking effect next month that will make it illegal in Baltimore to sell or give a BB gun to a minor. The law includes air guns and air rifles. Violators could face a fine of up to $500 and imprisonment for up to 60 days. The City Council passed the ordinance last week." The fight for paintball is still going on. Join the fight! Check our links page for some links that can help!

*Also from APG:"Good Legal News For once has graced paintball: Marcus LaVake, who owns Xtreme Sports and Recreation, Inc., in Hub City, South Dakota, is looking to open an indoor field in Aberdeen. There is a standing city ordinance that prohibits the discharge of firearms, pellet guns, and paintball markers within city limits. But, a change to the city's laws that will permit firing paintball markers indoors on indoor fields has passed a City Commission initial reading."

*I've noticed some of you are finding us by looking up the Ricochet UV loader. So I thought I'd link you to a review of it by Warpig: http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technical/loaders/ricochet_uv/index.shtml

*From APG: "Empire Twister Barrel is new to the market, and offers rifling to spin and thus stabilize balls. Lengths: 12" and 14" It is constructed of polished 6061 composite g-aluminum. http://www.empirepaintball.com"

*A new video is out called Jawbreaker II and it is hosted by Rocky Cagnoni of Avalanche. There are highlights from the 2002 Mardi Gras Open & the LA Open. You can get the video here: http://warpedsportz.com.

*I didn't have much extra time last week to contact more potential sponsors. This week should be a little different so I hope to bring more good news next week!

*New links were just added!

The final production model loader is non agitating (though later models may be) and features an array of ultra-violet LEDs in its roof, and another grouping in its neck. The loader charges energy into Night Paintball's Crypt-O-Night glow in the dark paintballs."

*PanAm's baby, IPPI (Individual Paintball Player Identification), will be going live around the end of this year. IPPI is a national player tracking system. Here's some more news from Warpig about it: http://www.warpig.com/paintball/articles/news/ippi.shtml.

*We should be receiving pics from Wayne Dollack's Scenario event "Final Fantacies," held back in Oct. at VBR/PV, sometime this week. Our photographer couldn't make the event so we called on one of our board members, Scott Matlock, to help provide us with some. I'll make a post when they're on-line. Sorry it's taken so long. Joe Seiverling, another board member who's in charge of helping me with the pic site's, should be getting caught back up soon. Stay tuned . . .

*From APG: "Jackass Fallout -Vandals, primarily teens, have created a new wave of civil disruption nationwide in recent weeks. Some sources credit the movie "Jackass," which stars Johnny Knoxville and features a cast of professional stunt men engaging in vandalistic, destructive, and self-abusive acts, with inspiring the recent rise in vandal crime. Others have noted a possible correaltion between paintball vandalism and the new Eminem move "8 Mile." The Ezine and Snapshots have reported cases already of teens videotaping themselves shooting paintball markers at pedestrians and property; a report recently came in from Florida that mentioned another case of video-taped paintball assault. While most viewers find the movie to be hilarious, the wave of vandalism they have inspired is not. Help police catch those who commit vandalism with paintball gear! Protect our image!"

*Dale Eaves of Team Select Fire sent me news from the Charity event that took place last weekend. He stated that "The tourney went pretty well. Not really the turnout we were expecting, but the teams that did show up represented the sport exceptionally. The sportsmanship and the competition were the best I have seen in a while. A lot of the teams out there showed that (they) had some insane moves. I talked to a lot of the players and they told me that in the beginning of the day they were a little nervous about the 100 rnd limit. But as the day went on (they) found it to be a very interesting and intense type of format. Congratulations go out to the Atomic Rooster's (for) taking first place, Team Firestorm (for) taking second, and last but not least Team 187 (for) taking third. My crew and I just want to thank all the teams, and sponsors mainly for stepping up to the plate and making a lot if sick kids feel a little better during the holiday season. We could not have done it with out any of you!" Dale informed us that they plan on throwing other Charity event's this spring, next fall, and christmas 2003.

*William Shatner was on Airgun Designs Forum last night. I unfortunately didn't find out about it in time to be there but I imagine there might be some news about it at their web site: http://www.automags.org/chat/chat.shtml.

*B-Town's team practice is scheduled this Sun. (Nov. 24th) at VBR/PV. Due to the Gator Pit being booked up for their winter league we had to make some changes on our schedule. You can see them here: the B-Town OUTLAWS.

*We often get asked if we are going to expand our club to other States. As I have told everyone who has asked, people as far away as Hawaii & Washington & as close as Kentucky & Ohio, if you are willing to work with us we would be happy to expand. A club vote I took earlier this week affirms it & we finally have a team that is interested in helping us. They are a scenario team called Team Renegade. They are from Ohio. Wish us luck as we start contacting fields and stores throughout Ohio. If you would like to see us extend ourselves to your area, contact me and we can work together to help all paintballers (including yourself!).

*Last weekend some of the Outlaws helped ref the 5-man BPS Open. The results of the tourney are: 1st place ($400 cash)-Cash Money, 2nd place-Stranglehold, and 3rd place-Parassey (& Dave Dixon from B-Town).  I believe the 1st & 2nd place teams were combined players from the Sewer Rats teams. Scott Matlock said "Things went real smooth and we will have another tournament next spring and we'll be able to run at least 15 teams next time (which would be $700 for first place!). Thanks to players from Outlaws and Sewer Rats for helping out with the reffing." Our photographer & team member of the Outlaws, Christian, did some taping & took some photos at the event. We'll get the pics up soon.

*I guess the release date was pushed back again. The release date for "In Your Face" is Nov. 28th! Check out their website: www.paintballmovie.com. If you catch it, let us know your opinion.

*On Dec. 8th, the Paintball Barn will be having a 3-man rookie-novice tourney. The entry fee is $75. There will be cash prizes (to be determined by number of teams). For more info please contact the Paintball Barn: http://paintballbarn.com.

*We received this from Action Pursuit Games this week: "BEWARE Of potential fallout from the major motion picture "8 Mile," in which rap-icon Eminem plays a character who shoots pedestrians and a police car with a paintball marker as part of the movie. Weep for the impressionable viewers and scattered parents who see this flagrant abuse of our sport on the silver screen...a major media icon participates in activities that seem to be a growing trend in stupidity and lawlessness."

*Also at APG, they have an article on hand signals for refs. You can see it here: http://actionpursuitgames.com/articles/atu0211.html

*"Fast Pod Fills are the latest in high tech in paintball. Three, at last count, are on the market. All of them have been tested and they all reduce fill times, and lessen the pod filling hassles of dipping pods into the case or filling pods and hopper by the handful." Here's the sites for the products APG suggested: The Paintball Jug - http://ThePaintballJug.com, Easy Fill Pod Filler - http://.paintballenterprises.com & the Super Sack by Major Paintball - www.majorpaintball.net.

*Challenge Park Extreme 2K2, hosted by Bea Youngs, is a DVD highlighting the year's events at CPX in Joliet, Illinois. The compilation of Challenge Cup, William Shatner/Spplat Attack, Mat Hoffman's CFB Freestyle BMX Finals, Tony Hawk's skate tour, Shadowbreed game, and other event footage, will hit stores in both DVD and VHS format during the winter of 2002. If you haven't checked out their site yet. It is on our links page.

*Check this out! No Fear is looking to paintball for next seasons sponsorship programs: http://forceofnature.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=379&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 : )

*PanAm Vegas! Dec. 4-8, at the Sports Center near the airport, and its the last national event of the season. Any team can enter, even if you didnt play the circuit. 5-player, 10-player, Young Guns and Stock! There will be a good trade show, and APG reporters covering the action.

*From APG: "Rudy Garcia-Tolson is a bilateral amputee super athlete who has numerous medals for swimming victories, track victories, and other contests for both the "challenged" competitors and the "normal" athletes. He especially enjoys paintball, and sees his skills with his marker as more than making up for his reliance on a pair of artificial limbs for mobility."

*Kick'n Paintballs will be having a 5-man indoor tourney in Jan. 2003! You can see a flyer here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. Because of the format I had to use they are a little fuzzy. If you have trouble reading them, I will be happy to send you some on-line. Just e-mail me with "Kick'n flyer" in the subject. Same goes for the registration page.

*Courtesy of APG: "MORE NYC "IMITATION GUN" FALLOUT. Staten Island Paintball Center was cited earlier this month for selling an "imitation firearm," which was a paintball marker that happened to be black. "Legal" colors of paintball markers are red, yellow, and purple. Also cited in this recent wave of idiocity: The Sports Authority for selling a black Spyder TL Plus and Tippmann markers. The Department of Consumer Affairs has subpoenaed numerous companies for lists of stores in the area that may sell paintball markers. These companies include: Kingman International, Tippmann Pneumatics, and National Paintball Supply. Fines are being used to enforce the city policy against the sale of "imitation" firearms, and more stores are expected to be bullied by the DCA in weeks to come." Last week I posted a petition you can sign to help them. Please sign it! This is ridiculous.

*Did you know that PSP & the NPPL are fighting over the NPPL name!? As always, there are 2 sides. Check out http://forceofnature.com for the dirt. The PSP & NPPL links are to their new websites.

*I didn't get a chance to add any links besides the link to Team Renegade this week. I should have some time to start back on our list early next week. So expect more then . . . have a good week!

*The 1st place winners of the 7-man AKA 2002 Fall Classic is the Sewer Rats! Grats to the Rats & Scott Matlock (team member of Black, manager of BPS & board member of the club). They are a very good group of guys & a very TOUGH team!

*B-Town's team practice was cancelled last weekend becuase of rain that (I hear) didn't even make it to VBR/PV. That once again proves that with all the state-of-the-art weather devices you shouldn't heed much attention to forecasts. They're just as good at predicting the weather now as they were in the old days. We did get to have a meeting and we sorted out some dates of tournies we'll be attending. You can see them here: the B-Town OUTLAWS

It says it's being opened by Championship teams Aftershock & Brimstone Smoke. Pretty cool and fairly priced.

*Kick'n Paintballs will be having a 5-man indoor tourney in Jan. 2003! You can see a flyer here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. Because of the format I had to use they are a little fuzzy. *Danny Buelna from Parasey forwarded this to me for YOU to sign: I received this email about the current litigation regarding paintball guns in NYC Sports Authority. Basically, Sports Authority is being forced to remove paintball markers because according to some people, they look "too real". Use the link below to read the full story and sign the petition that will help keep our sport alive: http://www.petitiononline.com/pb101/petition.html. Thank you for your support!

*Our links page will get updated again next week! I've been playing catch up on chores all week so I haven't been on-line to much. But that will change this week.

*SPONSORS!: Please get in touch w/ us and let me know if there are any changes in your hours for the winter, your plans of throwing tourneys or just say "hi".

*Also from APG: WHO'S PLAYING PAINTBALL? Jim "Roadrunner" Fox, writer, asks for your help in identifying "celebrities," including government officials, movie stars, sports figures--"famous" people--who play paintball. Send who and when they played, or links to web sites or news stories about it, to editor@actionpursuitgames.com.>They had an article in a recent APG listing the names they already have. It was actually kind of surprising.

*Congrats goes out to Indinan teams: Asylum Factory (also known as some of the Sewer Rats), Atmosfear, the Purdue Paintball Club, & the Instagator's (who combined w/ Asylum for the 10-man) for giving it their best at the World Cup! The Asylum Factory Team actually got 2nd in the 5-man Rookie division. Which doesn't surprise me, we've practiced with some of these guys and they are tough!

*Great coverage of the 2002 NPPL World Cup news can be found at: http://www.warpig.com/paintball/tournament/nppl/2002/worldcup/index.shtml. It was definitly an improvement this year with the addition of exhibition X-Ball at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex even the most crazy thing you've heard as a player, won't bring it down.  The results were: 10 Man Winners: Aftershock - Professional, Trauma - Amateur (They proved that you can have a perfect season (except for the X-Ball they played)! That's skill!), Cartel - Novice & Momma's Boys - Rookie. 5 Man Winners: Formula - Rookie, Chronic Platinum - Novice, Naughty Dogs 1 - Amateur & Aftershock 2 - Professional. The Series Champions: Ironmen & Dynasty - Professional, Trauma - Amateur, KAPP Factory - Novice & Static AKA - Rookie. Here is some good coverage from Paintball.com for the 7th day of the event. Purdue,  who kicked some @ss & showed true sportsmanship shared the X-Ball title with Drexel. Strange won the 1st ever pro X-Ball tournament title. Here's some news on the X-Ball competitions: http://paintball.com/features/story.cfm?placementID=1545.

*Sat., Nov. 9th & Sun., Nov. 10th the 7-man AKA 2002 Fall Classic is scheduled in Indianapolis. A flyer with all the details is available here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. B-Town was really hoping to attend this but had already decided to take a break from larger tourneys for a few months to acquire some funds for some better tournament markers. So if you go, let me know how it goes!

*B-Town will be having a mandatory team practice set-up at VBR/PV on Sun., Nov. 10th.

*Here is an article I found At Paintball City entitled "Heads Up or Cover Up". Check it out!

*Kick'n Paintballs will be having a 5-man indoor tourney in Jan. 2003! You can see a flyer here: KICK'N PAINTBALLS. Because of the format I had to use they are a little fuzzy. *AKA lifted their 13 bps cap on Vikings & Excaliburs. Check it out: http://forceofnature.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=342&mode. A lot of players have been happy with their markers. I am considering getting one myself.

*This weekend, there will be a free pump gun event on Oct. 27th at Thunder Ridge! You can visit Thunder Ridge on-line here:  http://listen.to/the_thunder. For more info you can also contact Dale Eaves at select_fire68@hotmail.com. There are many players that are going back to their roots and many new players experiencing one of the most affordable ways to play! Check them out! We unfortunately will have to miss this game, so someone let me know how it goes!

*The B-Town Outlaws are currently looking over a sponsorship offer from Kick'n Paintballs. It was a nice surprise to come home to it in the mail after a long weekend of reffing!

*Last weekend the B-Town Outlaws & Team Parasey reffed at Wayne Dollack/Paintball Valley's Scenario Game entitled "Headlok The Final Fantasy". This being our first experience of reffing a 24-hour game, I wasn't sure what would be in store for us. But it was a BLAST! Wayne Dollack is a great guy and it's obvious why he's one of the best (if not the best) at Scenario Games. Paintball Valley's fields played great and I'm still glad Gary & Chris Bartels dished out the funds for the bridge between the 2 valleys. It was a close game from the beginning. The day ended with only 100 points difference between the 2 forces! The Aliens pulled it out with 2400 points in the end over Earths 2300 points. The Generals, who actually play for the same team, did a great job and there's a rematch already scheduled for 2003. Wayne Dollack had a prize drawing at the end of the event and luckily, Tanner from Parasey & Jet from B-Town both walked away with prizes. VBR/PV will be sending some pics our way soon. I'll get them up as soon as we get them. I also heard that we might also appear in some magazines! It's needless to say, but a good time was had by all! See-ya next year!

*2002 World Cup news can be found at: http://www.warpig.com/paintball/tournament/nppl/2002/worldcup/index.shtml. The results so far is: the 10 Man Winners: Trauma - Amateur. They will be finishing out the 10-man divisions and X-Ball this week.

*I am happy to welcome a new member to the club! Welcome Paul Beard! Paul is the owner of TreeHuggers Paintball and you better look out because he's almost as fanatical about paintball as I am! He is also one of our sponsor's. I'd also like to personally thank him for helping put us closer to our 30 member goal. Which is when we will officially become a legal not-for-profit organization. Your member card will be sent in the mail this week. Thanx again Paul!

*Valley Branch Retreat/Paintball Valley announces that a winter league schedule will be released soon. There's nothing like playing in the winter! Stay tuned!

*Sorry I was late updating this week. My Grandmother went into the hospital this week and I just hadn't had enough time, till now . . .

*I received these news items from APG: http://actionpursuitgames.com
-PPAVV Opposes "SNIPES." Paintball Players Against Vandalism and Violence (PPAVV) formally opposes the movie "Snipes" not only because it depicts violence, but it also depicts violence using paintball markers. Not only does this movie carry violence too far, it also depicts the use of a paintball marker as an actual weapon. Both are something that PPAVV is vehemently against. PPAVV Info: http://www.ppavv.org. About PPAVV: Paintball Players Against Vandalism and Violence is a non-profit organization formed to, among other things, change attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate vandalism and violence, especially when it pertains to the use of paintball equipment.

*Stress Relief Paintball is a game online at http://www.miniclip.com that offers an interesting diversion for the bored, though is short on any realism.

Sept. 21st-

*This week, Indiana has had the unfortunate loss of a great captain and team member of Instagator's Green, Matt Bowen. Some of you might recognize him as a face behind the counter at Gator Joe's. It is a very sad loss and members of the ICC are taking donantions to either  help his family and/or sponsor a bunker in his name. This is a link to their discussion board on this topic: http://pub17.ezboard.com/findianacaptainscouncilfrm11.showMessage?topicID=311.topic

*The 2002 Indiana Captains Council (ICC)/Kick n Summer Series wrapped up last Sun. at the Indy Sportz Alternative. Don Wadsworth of ISA, Amateur Series winners (& refs of this event) Atmosfear 1 & from the ICC: Dan Volis, Tom Boyer, Chris Herring & Anthony Lillig (among others) did a lot of work preparing for this event & should recieve many a pat on the back for throwing a great event! A lot of players are saying this was the best event of the year. With what I've seen from attending the last 3 events of the series with the B-Town Outlaws, I'd have to agree. Thanx also goes out to Kenny of Kick n for some great paint and the free case of paint each team received for playing this year!
---It is unfortunate Bad Dreams teams had to resort to confrontation for losing. Seeing this  unfortunate behavior first hand . . . I only hope that the ICC and Bad Dreams sponsors answer with appropriate measures. This complete lack of sportsmanship should not be tolerated!
---Congrats to the State Champs: Groundfire (A) & Outburst (N) & the Series Champs: Atmosfear 1 (A) & Outburst (N). Atmosfear 1 will be attending & playing the World Cup expenses paid! *PRESS RELEASE: The final event of the ICC/Kick'n 5-man Summer series is almost here.  On Sunday, Sept 15, forty-eight teams will take to the field to compete for the title of Indiana State Champion.  The host for the event will be Indy Sportz Alternative in Indianapolis (www.indysportzalternative.com).  The referees will be Team Atmosfear, who have already claimed the title of ICC Series Champion.
The ICC Industry Committee is currently accepting suggestions from potential paint & field sponsors for next year.  The ICC would like to know what the Industry's thought are on a variety of sponsorship related issues.  We are also hoping to have an Industry Summit sometime in mid-October to discuss issues the players of the league will be discussing at the ICC Convention in November.  The issues are on our website in the Industry Forum.  If you are not a member of the forum, but believe you would like to be, let me know and we will get you the access that is needed.
The ICC is also going to be coordinating the jersey sale.  The attached jersey design has been approved by the Executive Board.  We will be selling the jersey for $24 plus shipping and handling costs (assuming we can get a pre-order of 300 jerseys).  If your shop or field is interested in ordering the jerseys, e-mail Anthony at the address below.  We are hoping to get the minimum order as promoting the league promotes the sport in Indiana.  If every field & store in state buys 10, we will have many more than the minimum order.
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Anthony at: AnthonyLillig@iccpaintball.com.

Updated APRIL 2002:

April 28th-

*I only have time to come on tonight and say that I picked up our not-for-profit info up today. AND That is why I don't have the time tonight for a big update. Something I picked up on though: It is going to cost us $180 to be formed as a legal club! That astounds me, I must be honest. You're non-profit and you're expected to pay such a chunk. BUT I guess that's how it is so . . . I'll just flow w/ the game.
I'd also remind those of you who haven't stepped up and became Members: WE   ARE   RELYING   ON   YOU!! We can make a difference for you, your team and the sport. Not to mention the good times.

*Soon I will have up our information on all of the costs/needs that our future insurerer is requiring us to provide. I will have it down to almost the exact Members needed to get this field KICKIN'! Remember also: Members are welcome to take a look at the books at anytime to see where our money has gone. We are doing this legitamately and we will be proud to show it!

April 27th-

*Today's the day! I hope to see most of you there. Besides flyers for you to hand out, I'll be bringing flyers from Spanky's, our insurance requirements for both staff on our field but also the items they are requiring us to have. Plus, it's a chance to see where a lot of paint is bound to fly.
________________

April 24th-

*There is now a map available showing you where Bloomington Paintball Supply is and it's adaptable to whatever direction you are coming from. Check it out on the Recent and Upcoming Events: page. This is where we'll be meeting this Sat.!

April 22nd-

*About Our Club: was just updated!

*We have just added a Message Board! Look for it on our Home page!

*We'd like to welcome Cody Forston to our Club! He works for the Bloomington Police Department and has 10 years of paintball experience. He has also filled out an application to become a Board Member. Welcome Cody!

*This weekend, on Sat. the 27th at 5 p.m., we will be inviting everyone who is interested to meet at Bloominbton Paintball Supply located at 4019 W. 3rd St., in Bloomington, In. We will be meeting people there and will then let you follow us out to the field. People that are interested on being on the Board should come out now! For more directions you can call Larry or Julie from B.P.S. at #812-332-2738. You don't have to be a Member to meet us and come out to the field. The field is still under work but you can see the potential. If you can bring out materials for the fields, please bring it out. Hope to see you there!
________________

April 19th-

*I'll be turning Spanky's flyers for their 1st Scenario Game for June 8th & 9th into a jpeg over the next couple days. So keep an eye out!

*I have finally gotten the information we needed to officialize the Club. One day next week you'll read a post stating that we are Official!!

*We may have found our insurance provider but a little more time and checking with some others will nail it down for sure. There are many regulations (signs, netting, chronos, enough refs, etc.) that we need to address. If you want to become a Member, please don't hesitate.

*We also need some people to step up and become Board Members. E-mail me at kylekilhudson@webtv.net if you are interested. The only requirements are having some time, some ideas and being able to make a (mid-week) meeting once a month.

*There will be changes to some things. For one, since I have and am going to continue to work on our website & do everything I possibly can to help us and the sport grow. I will hold my postion as President until I have either done as much as I can or I see someone else who can step up and take us further. I do not want to hand this over to someone who cannot handle it and therefore lose everything we have worked for. All of the other positions will work this way also unless they decide to step down or are found in neglect of their duties. Then our Board Members and its Officers will vote to fill the position from all of the current Members.

*Secondly, we have the oppurtunity to supply you with our own wholesale paintballs but won't be taking on this oppurtunity so that we can help the fields/stores that are around us grow (trust me on this, it will help everyone). There is plenty of paintball already going on around us. We must do our best to provide the Club w/ practice fields & tournaments, help promote players (and referees!) so that they can find each other and create professional teams that will set a higher standard through which paintball is needing and is on its way to becoming. Honestly, this will dampen the Club's future profit, but it will help the sport, us, and YOU!! To counter, we'll have to be thinking of ways (raffles, tournaments, snacks, drinks, etc.) to help us make a profit and in turn provide more benefits for all Members.

April 16th-

*Member cards are now available! We also have made it possible to send in payment directly to us. Money orders only! Please be sure to make it out to Paintball of Tomorrow. Just follow the directions on the Sign-Up Form:

*On the 13th we marked stumps and prepped our new (soon-to-be) leased land to be bush hogged.

*Paintball Fun, at 2690 Breckinridge Rd. in Corydon, has offered members free full-day-passes. I'll have more information on these in the next few days. Until then, you can check them out online at: http://www.paintballfun.com

*There will be alot of work getting done this week. STAY TUNED . . .

April 12th-

*We looked at our first addition to the Club's fields. We will soon be leasing this land. We also moved our old barricades out to the new field. On the 20th of Sat., at noon we'll be marking stumps and designating "keeper" brush piles, while preparing it to be bushhogged. To start off we're going to focus on two fields. We have some of what we need but we can always use more. Contact Us: if you can help bring out more.

*We now have an ad that will appear next month for one year at a bowling alley in Bloomington. More details will be on their way!

*Our Member Cards are now being printed as we speak. They should be available somewhere between tomorrow and next Wed.!

*I have been talking to various fields, narrowing down our insurance choices and tracking down "official" Club information.

*Spankys Paintball, a home based field & store located at 2799 East S.R. 356 in Scottsburg , has offered a free co2 fill and 10% off on cases of paint when Members present their I.D. & Member Card. You may contact them at: mailto:spankysptball@webtv.net online or at (812)752-7375. You can also visit their website at: http://drive.to/spankys

*Group rates at Blast Factory, an indoor 22,000 sq. ft. paintball complex in Kokomo. They also offered us "private" practice time (no ref's/BYOP) by appointment. You may visit their site to see what they're about: http://go.to/blastfactory

April 6th-

*Some of the current Board Members, the President, Vice President, & the Treasurer are going out to look at an area that has been offered to be leased to the club by Larry Corbin, the owner of Bloomington Paintball Supply. We are also moving some of our barricades from our old personal field out to his place today. If we don't finish transportation today, we'll finish it up on Sunday, April 6th.

*We are still accepting offers of land that can be leased to the Club. Please remember that we're doing this legitamatly, and whatever land that is chosen, will be insured by the Club. E-mail us if you have an offer!: mailto:paintballoftmrw@webtv.net

*I have been e-mailing potential Indiana fields for discounts & potential insurance agents for quotes and the terms in which they provide it under.

*We are on our way to becoming legal! We have some of the information needed to get us started & recognized. Soon we'll have the information on whether we'll have the ability to receive our paintball products tax-free! Cross your fingers!

*Remember to come on out to Bloominton Paintball Supply located at: 4019 W. 3rd St., in Bloominton, IN.
You can sign up there are just e-mail us your Member Form available here: Sign-Up Form:

I will then contact you to set up a rendevous to get your Membership Card, accept your dues & in turn, start receiving your discount.

*Our Members Cards will be available soon. Today we will be looking at what could be the final draft of them. Then it will be about a week's wait.

______________

April 1st-

*Memberships are now available for $30 per year or $40 per year for a family membership. I will have a "privelages" page up and running over the next couple days listing our benefits. As of right now benefits include:
  • Show your member card to get 10% off all guns & 5% off everything else at Bloomington Paintball Supply. Larry Corbin & Julie Blake, are being very generous for just opening up their store. The store is located in Bloomington, IN. at 4019 W. 3rd St. For directions or more information please call: (812)332-2738.
  • We "together", will be setting up a few fields that will have free access to all Clubmembers. The plan now is to be open on Sat.'s & Sun.'s. In the future (depending on volunteers from our reffing staff), we plan on being available for scheduled weekday dates. We will be insuring our courses and, as of now (although it is tentative), plan on opening the field up during the middle of May for Play.
  • We will have the potential of future sponsorships for the best teams of the club.
  • By becoming a non-profit organization we may recieve non-taxable paintball items.
  • I personally will be offering free team bios on our website.
  • At least, group discounts at (somewhat) local fields.

*As you can see, a membership & the time you can give to the club will greatly benefit you, your team and the sport of paintball. As you probably know, Southern Indiana is lacking in the ability of offering paintballers and potential paintballers a way to practice, play and compete at an affordable price. Join us and change the face of paintball as we know it. If you have any questions, you can get our contact information from the Contact Us: page. Feel free to get in touch with us!

Updated March 2002:

March 29th-

*We are making changes to the club and the website will reflect it over the next month or so . . .

*We are currently in talks with a new paintball store owner here in Bloomington, In. The name of his store is Bloomington Paintball Supply. We, with his help, are in the process of forming a new paintball club that will encompass several counties around this State. Larry Corbin, the store owner, has offered a generous 10% off of all guns & 5% off everything else for all clubmembers, and the possibility of receiving our products tax free. Membership will be $30 per year or $40 per year for a family (the membership is non-refundable), which goes into club funds for netting, insurance (if it applies to us?), etc. As we work out the details and get the club up off the ground, there will be other benefits such as a field(s) that will be available for members to play on on Sat's & Sun's (& in the future possibly weekdays can be available by appointment). There are many things we'll be working out, so keep in touch. Those interested should e-mail us here, or stop by Larry's store on the West side of Bloomington, and sign up there.

UPDATE!:

The majority of our members showed up for good weather in the 50's. . We did get some taping done, but it will be over the next month or so before they're available on-line. We had some exciting battles but the overall feeling was of a little disappointment since this was our last day at this field. Oh well . . . on to bigger and better things!

March 10th-

*We'll be practicing this week on our home course with some fellow paintballers from Lawrence County. For directions contact us here. Bring out those empty tanks and be stocked up on balls!
________________

UPDATE!:

Some of our members showed up for good weather in the 50's. We had a turnout of a 20+, and got to get in some much needed team practice. Unfortunately we didn't get any taping in, but it was still a great day!

Updated February 2002:

Feb. 26th-

*We had to postpone playing at the house last Sun., Feb 24th. It is now pushed back to an indefinate date, probably in a month or so.

*Instead of playing at the house, we (our club members) & members (and friends) of the two teams: the Heltonville Militia and Odyssey,  got together on Feb. 24th. for some good practice. Both teams are from the Lawrence Co. area. They had 2 personal fields that we got to paint on. Good times . . .

*In 2 weeks, on Sunday, March 10th, our members and the group of guys we played with on the 24th, are all invited out to play at our personal field. Come one, come all.

*We are currently on the lookout for more fields to practice on. If you know of one, or even have land available that you would consider using for this purpose. Please contact us. We have experience setting up fields.
______________

Feb. 16th-

*Members are all invited to come to practice this Sunday, Feb. 17th, for next weekend's competition. The weather is supposed to be in the lower 40's.
______________

UPDATE!:

Some of our members showed up for good weather in the 50's. We also got to get in some taping (which I'll be adding to our picture site very soon). The day ended with Joe & Kil chasing each other around a tree, and Jet following Gador around during the last full-hopper, unlimited (as much as you can take) hits game. There should be some good footage. It was a good day . . .
______________

Feb. 8th-

*On the 10th we'll be going out to chek out the house. Contact a Founder for more information or directions.
______________

UPDATE!:

Most of our members showed up to "walk the house". It was a little smaller than we were expecting, but it will do. We look forward to this type of game.
______________

Feb. 5th-

*Members are all invited to come out to our first visit to an old abandoned farm house to play some paintball. We have been invited to this place by some fellow paintballers who made it to our last Paintball Tournament held at Bent Arrow's in Bloomington, IN. last November. We are "happy" to say that we are "more than happy" :) for this challenge. This will be our 1st indoor game (if only partially indoor (there are a couple extra buildings like a shed, ect. for outside play and window sniping!)).

*The date is set for February 24th. Which happens to be one of our members b-bay!

*We actually have (respectivly) 3 members having b-day's this month. Happy B-day Zip (co-Founder and Member), Jet (co-Founder and Member), & Gador(Member), all three are also team members of the OUTLAWS !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENTLEMAN.

*We will be setting a date to go checkout the house soon. It will probably be for the weekend before the adventure.

*Members, remember to go to our field and get your tanks filled up before the day. Chances are slim that there will be a filling station close.

*Our picture site is now close to completion! Check it out!

*We are planning to play this Sunday (Jan. 27th). All members are invited. All members are welcome to bring a guest.

UPDATE!:

We had quite a day, and played many games. The majority of members showed, plus Rex returned for his 2nd time playing with us. Gador finally got to enjoy a game of full hopper with unlimited hits. I've yet to meet anyone who hasn't enjoyed this game! To top it off, it was a beautiful day in the 5o's. Need I say more?
_________________

*We are planning to play this Sunday (Jan. 13th). All members are invited. If we have a good enough showing, we will try to remember to tape. I only wish there was some snow on the ground . . .

UPDATE!:

The majority of our members showed up for a decent 45 degree day. No snow unfortunately (which is why we didn't tape), but . . . we had many good games. Finishing the day with one of our favorites (for those brave/crazy(?) enough): full hopper w/ unlimited hits. From experience, there's nothing like three guys charging at you not caring about getting hit! We also would like to thank Zack for coming out for his 2nd time on our field.

We have now set a date for a visit to play at a old-abandoned farm house (barn, ect.). It is the last Sunday of February, Sunday, February 24th. The details will be worked out over the next few weeks. I do know for sure that it will be Members-Only. Stay tuned . . .
